The fishing has been very good with the Mahi Mahi starting to bite in the ocean in increasing numbers also some reports of very big jacks caught in the ocean . on the inter-coastal the guys have been catching Redfish and Snook (catch and release of course ) I personally went out and saw schools of reds tailing on the flats near the power plant so I think it is starting to look good for the coming month. I will keep you posted.

Wind wind and more wind....... It seems as though the wind just wont go away but just before it  started to blow the signs of great fishing were all there with two of our boat club members going out in the Parker 2 days in a row. On the first day it was a day of bottom fishing and shallow reefs were the choice for the day. The guys had some great success catching snapper grouper and Cobia I don't think they could have asked for more than that, so all in all a great day bottom fishing. On the second day (this really got me excited) the guys went trawling off shore fore Mahi Mahi and well the results were great, they caught a bunch of them. They were even so kind as to provide me with some dinner. Other reports we have heard and seen: I saw one of the marina customers come in with some tuna so the ocean seems to be getting very productive. The fishing in the inter-coastal remains good with catches of Pompano and Sheepshead. Hopefully by the weekend the wind will blow away.

With the weather improving the fishing seems to be getting better and better. Over the weekend we had guys go out on the flats boat that had great success, they caught Sheepshead, Mackrel and not to mention a lot of Pompano. I am not sure how long the Pompano will be around as the water is over 70 now, so I am sure we will see less and less of them getting caught. We also had guys get some Redfish around the docks,no keeper size but still fun to catch none the less. The Ocean was still a little rough early in the weak so not to much going on from out of here but I have heard some reports of some big Mahi Mahi out there and one of our clients reported big schools of bait getting attacked by something, but he could catch nothing. So I am predicting with this warm weather coming in that the ocean will start to produce more bait and with more bait comes more fish. Im sure we are in for some great fishing ........

THURSDAY 3/25/2010

The weather seems to be getting warmer and with just that slight increase in water temperature the fishing had some great results.
One of our customers from up north, a boat club member, who is also a very good angler was excited to get out and try his hand at some Pompano. He took the flats boat out 2 times this week and had great success. So it seems before it gets too hot that we may still be in for some good Pompano fishing. Other reports that came in were of good Sheepshead larger size than normal and there are still guys catching Mackrel just outside of the inlet.
